Rcapital has supported the MBO of CHS Engineering Services Limited from its former private equity investor.

CHS Engineering Services is a specialist engineering consultancy focussing principally on servicing clients in the aviation sector. It provides a range of services including baggage handling testing and the design, procurement and implementation of automated handling systems. Its clients include airport owners, operators and their respective supply chains and it services clients globally from offices in the UK and Singapore.

Rcapital has worked closely with the management team to agree and support a growth strategy, focussing on developing further its well invested Foundations Connect remote monitoring platform as well as taking advantage of wider market opportunities created by the requirement by airport operators to meet new regulations set by the European Civil Aviation directives.

Colin Smith, CEO at CHS Engineering Services, said: “Having established the business over thirty years ago, I am pleased to have led an MBO of the business with a new backer who will provide the platform for future growth. We have a number of exciting opportunities in the pipeline, and with Rcapital’s financial and operational support I am confident that the business will reach its full potential”.

Chris Campbell, director at Rcapital, said: “Our investment in CHS Engineering Services is another example of how Rcapital works closely with management teams to identify opportunities for growth and value creation. We have enhanced the management team with the appointment of an experienced Chairman and CFO and have exciting plans to bolster the senior team further in the coming weeks. We look forward to working with Colin and his team as it enters its next chapter in a fast moving and exciting sector”

Rcapital was introduced to the opportunity by Duff & Phelps, with legal advice provided by Harrison Clark Rickerbys.
