For me, the diversity of Rcapital's portfolio is truly unparalleled. There's real satisfaction in being part of a team that works tirelessly and with great care to transform challenges into successes.
Mark joined Rcapital in September 2024 as Company Secretary, providing board and corporate governance support across the Rcapital portfolio.
He studied at the University of Glasgow, where he initially pursued music but graduated with a degree in politics. During his time at university, Mark spent a summer working in Washington D.C., in the office of the late Senator Ted Kennedy, followed by a short stint at the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, assisting the team of President Bill Clinton. After university, Mark worked as an adviser to a Member of the Scottish Parliament before completing a law degree at the University of Strathclyde.
Prior to joining Rcapital, Mark held Company Secretary and Corporate Governance roles in various industries, including a FTSE 250 company, investment trusts, the mutual sector, and regulated utilities. His experience spans corporate governance, the UK Corporate Governance Code, statutory and regulatory compliance, investor relations, subsidiary governance, charitable entities, terms of reference, and schemes of delegation.
Mark lives just south of Glasgow. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, swimming, and playing the piano, although his toddler ensures those moments are few and far between.
